Advice at the moments that matter, and then made to hold.
Shallon Legal advises people and businesses when wealth passes to the next generation, when a structure has to stand, and when a dispute has to be won and enforced. We are an independent legal and corporate services firm based in the UAE, acting for private clients, family offices, entrepreneurs and companies across the UAE, Europe and selected international markets.
Our distinction is simple. Most law firms advise and stop. Most corporate-services providers administer, and never advised in the first place. We do both, under one roof, lawyers who draft Wills, resolve disputes and write the contracts businesses depend on, alongside fiduciary professionals, including STEP-qualified practitioners, who build and run the structures that put the advice into effect.
Independence
We are privately owned and owe nothing to any bank or provider. We recommend what is right for you, because we have no reason to recommend anything else.
Things should hold
Advice is only worth what it delivers. We draft, structure and administer so that what we put in place lasts.
Discretion
What we do is private. We treat it that way.
People
We hire for judgement and decency as much as for qualifications. These are personal matters, and people handle them.
Both halves of the work, under one roof.
DIFC and ADGM Wills, registration and probate support
Dispute resolution before the DIFC and ADGM Courts and in arbitration
Commercial contracts and legal advisory
Trusts and foundations, established and administered
Company formation and ongoing corporate services
Regulatory and compliance advice for fintech, digital assets and payments
Paul Hogarty
Managing Partner
A Scottish-qualified solicitor and Notary Public, registered under Part II with full rights of audience before both the DIFC and ADGM Courts, Paul leads the firm’s dispute resolution practice and advises on fintech, payments and related regulatory matters, alongside the firm’s corporate and private-client work.
His disputes experience is current and hands-on. His recent work includes securing an urgent possession order for the owner of a Dubai property, defeating the buyer’s attempt to appeal, and pursuing default judgment, forfeiture and indemnity costs before the DIFC Courts.
He also brings substantial experience in fintech and payments. In senior in-house counsel roles he advised on regulatory and licensing matters and led the dispute-resolution strategy for fintech and payments businesses operating across the UAE, Canada, Brazil, Dominica and Hong Kong.
Paul qualified as a solicitor in Scotland in 2006, holds an LLB (Honours) from the University of Aberdeen, is a member of the Law Society of Scotland and the New York State Bar Association, a CCBE-registered European lawyer, registered under Part II with full rights of audience before the DIFC Courts, and admitted with full rights of audience before the ADGM Courts. Outside the firm, he is a private pilot and a PADI scuba instructor.
